AEPI Offers Plan for Stimulus Funds
Constitution-Tribune, Tuesday, 03 03 2009

CARROLLTON, Mo. – American Energy Producers, Inc. has announced that it has submitted a proposal to Missouri Governor Jay Nixon’s Transform Missouri Initiative, which allows Missourians, non-profit organizations, local governments and businesses to share ideas and submit proposals for projects that will maximize the benefit of funds received from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act to create jobs in Missouri that will transform the state’s economy. This initiative focuses on developing human capital, enhancing information and transportation infrastructure and expanding research and development of alternative sources of energy in Missouri.

AEPI is a large cooperative association that is currently developing and constructing an integrated soybean crush and biodiesel production facility in Carrollton, Mo., which will process up to 38.5 million bushels of locally-grown soybeans into 850,000 tons of soybean meal, 61,250 tons of soybean hulls and 60 million gallons of soy oil annually. This soy oil will serve as AEPI’s feedstock for production of 60 million gallons of high quality BQ- 9000-certified biodiesel. AEPI’s Transform Missouri Initiative proposal seeks funding to complete construction of the Company’s integrated facility.

J. David Swearingin, President of AEPI stated, “Governor Nixon’s Transform Missouri Initiative is perfectly aligned with the vision of our 989 cooperative members; that is to develop a state-of-the art integrated soybean extraction and biodiesel facility that will not only stimulate economic development in Missouri, but will create jobs that will help Missourians compete globally in the 21st century.” Swearingin continued, “AEPI represents a unique opportunity to invest in Missouri’s economic future because we will add much needed soybean crushing capacity that will increase the value of soybeans for local producers. In addition, we will be positioned at the forefront in the development of alternative energy by producing environmentally-friendly biofuels from locally-grown soybeans that ultimately reduces our nation’s dependence on foreign oil sources. Like many Americans, we believe that the United States can lead once again by investing in the power of clean, renewable energy.”

In a time where Missouri’s unemployment rate has increased to 7.3 percent and Missouri families are struggling as more jobs are shipped overseas, AEPI is expected to create approximately 46 new high-value jobs with aboveaverage salaries and will significantly contribute to rural economic development. In fact, it is estimated that the total $164.5 million combined integrated facility could generate $69.1 million in revenues to the state of Missouri, $2.85 billion in new personal income to Missourians and $3.1 billion in new economic activity and output to the state economy based on 10 year statistics of biofuel investments outlined by the Missouri Department of Economic Development.

American Energy Producers, Inc., headquartered in Carrollton, Mo., is a large, new generation producer cooperative association established in August 2006, to develop, construct and operate an integrated soybean crush and biodiesel refinery. After receiving a highly favorable economic feasibility report from a leader in biofuel project feasibility, AEPI was able to conduct a successful equity drive that secured over $36 million from 989 member-investors in 2007. Construction of the AEPI’s biodiesel facility commenced in March 2008 and is currently 50 percent complete. Additional information about AEPI may be found at http://www.aepi.ws/.
